The Pump and Motor
A pool pump and pool motor are two entirely different pieces of equipment that form part of a pool’s water circulation system. Along with the motor, the pump draws water from a pool or spa, forcing it through the filter and heater (provided you have a heater), then returning it to the pool or spa.
Filters
Swimming pools and spas are subject to constant contamination from foreign matter brought in by swimmers, wind and articles used in and around the pool. Filtration is the mechanical process of removing this insoluble matter from swimming pool and spa water. As water pumps through the circulation system of a pool or spa, the filter strains all impurities, improving the overall clarity of the water.
